Donna's Great Grandfather, Solomon Adams signed the VJ Treaty with Canada indicating that as long as the green grass grows, and the water flows Native people will be provided health and education. Donna's Grandfather was Chief for 34 years and a Medicine Man.
Donna's Father was also Chief of Sarnia Indian Reserve, he was instrumental in obtaining Mother's allowance for Native mothers. At an early age Donna was aware that she too had responsibility of being a role model for her people.
